Four Tips if You Are Thinking of Becoming a Writer

  1. Read everything. As often as you can. Reading is your practice to be a writer. And a good way to see that there are a million different ways to be a writer.

  2. Keep a notebook, or journal, or a computer file, or scraps of paper of ideas. You never know which little idea might turn into a whole story.

  3. Don’t be afraid to edit what you write. Editing is the way to make what you have written better.

  4. Feel free to ignore any advice anyone might give you about becoming a writer.
